Benchmark Five - Review and Evaluate

Annual evaluation of implementation of Local Biodiversity Action Plan and progress of benchmarking process.

Aim: The final benchmark offers the opportunity to evaluate the progress achieved so far, and to ensure that this staged system evolves into a self-perpetuating process understood and enthusiastically adopted by council staff, elected representatives and the community. This chance to reflect also allows the amendment of objectives and actions from lessons learnt to ensure the most successful outcomes for council.

Actions to Assist in Benchmark Attainment

Undertake an evaluation of the Local Biodiversity Action Plan (see below) , determining successes, constraints and opportunities, and preparing a new action plan with incorporation of new, far-reaching targets and objectives.

Develop a Case Study to promote successes to the community and other councils.
Encourage Council to reaffirm its commitment to conserving biodiversity.
