This document is about the commercial kangaroo and wallaby harvest quotas for 2007.
Under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, the Australian Government is required to approve the kangaroo management plans prepared by each state in order to enable the commercial export of kangaroo and wallaby products. At present five states have approved management plans for kangaroos or wallabies. The management plans include a provision requiring the setting of annual quotas to ensure sustainability.
