Approved wildlife trade management plans
5 December 2005
Wildlife Trade Management Plans have been developed by the Tasmanian Department of Primary Industries, Water and Environment for wallabies on Flinders and King Islands. The management plans cover the commercial harvest and aim to ensure the ecological sustainability of wallaby harvesting by regular monitoring of population trends and adopting appropriate management in response to any observed trends.
The Declaration of Approved Wildlife Trade Management Plans for the Flinders and King Island Wallabies states that the Minister for the Environment and Heritage has approved these management plans.
