Figure 19 (a-c) Western Australia

The first aerial survey was done by CSIRO in 1981. Since 1981, triennial aerial surveys (i.e. 1981, 1984, 1987, 1990, 1993) have been undertaken by ANPWS. The survey area has been broken horizontally into three zones with a different zone surveyed each year starting in 1995, now by CALM. The survey area is approximately 1.2 million square km and the sampling intensity approximately 0.4-0.8%.
