The Tasmanian Department of Primary Industries and Water decided to withdraw its harvest quota submission for 2007-08 when it became apparent that there was a lack of export market demand for wallaby products. Both non-commercial and commercial harvesting for the domestic market did occur during 2007-08, but no harvest quotas were approved by the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and the Arts. Consequently, no wallaby products harvested in the 2007-08 quota period can be exported.
