Aquagreen Pty Ltd has prepared a draft environment assessment report under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 to include Glossolepis leggetti (Leggett's rainbowfish) on the live import list for sale in the Australian aquarium trade.
The report has been prepared against the standard terms of reference and assesses the suitability of Glossolepis leggetti for import into Australia.
Comments were invited on the draft report, including recommendations on minimum size restrictions to prevent identification issues.
Comment period closed 13 December 2010.
All comments received will be provided to the applicant to address in finalising the assessment report. Any relevant information provided will be considered by the department prior to briefing the minister.
