About the management plan

A Wildlife Trade Management Plan has been prepared by the Office of Environment and Heritage that covers conservation and management of common kangaroo species.

The Declaration of Approved Wildlife Trade Management Plans states that the Minister for Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities has approved this management plan.

Under section 13 of the Administrative Decisions (Judicial Review) Act 1977 a person may, by written notice, request a decision-maker to provide a written statement of reasons for the decision. A statement of reasons was requested for the Minister's decision to approve the New South Wales Commercial Kangaroo Harvest Management Plan 2012-2016. The statement of reasons was signed by the Minister on 1 March 2012 and provided to the organisation requesting the statement. A copy of the statement of reasons is provided here for information.
