| Statement of Significance: |

| The Mulwala Homestead property is of significance to the Mulwala area. The property is significant as one of a group of properties in the region established in the mid nineteenth century that physically illustrate the evolution of pastoralism in the Riverina. The homestead is architecturally significant as an intact example of cypress pine vernacular construction and later pise construction. The property as a whole is socially significant as the residence of a prominent pastoralist family. Enhancing the significance of the property is the existance of a large archive of historical documentation relating to the property which complements the extant physical fabric of the property. This material is of national significance in its own right. |
