The Russell Offices Canteen is designed on a square plan constructed around an exposed rolled steel joist frame and diagonal roof supports. The glazed walls on the front and two side faces are full height floor to ceiling and regularly patterned. The building style has clearly expressed horizontal planes of the wide external building platform, extensive eaves, and a clerestory window. A small central spire provides an identifying feature. The building has high quality finishes with its roofing, fascia and spire clad in copper. The Russell Canteen has been included in the RNE record for the Russell Precinct. |
