Statement of Significance
The Theatre Royal, with hotel, set the pattern for the larger His Majesty's Theatre and hotel. It presents an uncommonly large, picturesque facade which complements, in scale and presence, other historic buildings within the streetscape. The detail work is unlikely ever to be reproduced.
