Statement of Significance
One of the last Georgian buildings of its type. Originally the southern residence in a group of five. Was owned by John Fairfax originally (joint owner of Sydney Morning Herald) prior to 1848.

Description
Originally two storey townhouse, two extra stories and attic added in 1910 to match original. Lower two storeys of sandstone, upper two of stuccoed brick. Fine four storeyed timber verandah. Large box frame windows (originally French casement) on ground floor. French casements on three upper floors. Whole building finely proportioned and detailed.
