Statement of Significance
A spectacular landscape feature visible from both the Benambra and Bindi districts.

Description
A rocky mountain range composed largely of red to purple conglomerates of upper Devonian age. The vegetation varies from dry foothill forests of red stringybark and brittle gum, through moist foothill forests of messmate stringybark and narrow-leaf peppermint to pockets of alpine ash forests and summit areas of snow gum woodland.

Location
About 2,740ha, 9km east-south-east of Benambra, comprising the area recommended for reservation as area D26 by the Land Conservation Council, Victoria, in; Final Recommendations, Alpine Area, June 1979, being the area surrounding the mountain.
