Minister’s Reason for Recovery Plan decision

A previous decision was made that there should be a recovery plan for the Lima stringybark, and the Threatened Species Scientific Committee recommends no change to that initial decision. A recovery plan for this species was prepared by the Victorian Department of Sustainability and Environment, and adopted under the EPBC Act, in 2006. Date of decision – 30/01/2013

A local Landcare group has been undertaking a 'Healthy Roadside Habitat' Project under the Natural Heritage Trust grant. This includes enhancing understorey and extending and connecting patches with the range of trees and shrubs indigenous to the area. They are planting E. alligatrix ssp. limaensis only within its current distribution and are using seedlings from nearby trees (Berwick S. 2001, pers. comm.).

The following table lists known and perceived threats to this species. Threats are based on the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN) threat classification version 1.1.
