Services and experience

Services provided:

CQG Consulting is a professional consultancy offering planning, environmental and engineering services locally, nationally and internationally. CQG staff members are well placed to provide carbon offsetting activities and have the required skills to undertake projects identified under the Indigenous Carbon Farming Fund. CQG staff have experience in the development of fire management plans, vegetation unit assessment and mapping.

CQG has project managed four state-significant Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) including the Wongai Underground Coal Mine project which included extensive engagement and consultation with the Indigenous Traditional Owners (TO). As part of the EIS process CQG undertook an assessment of the environmental offsets applicable and relevant to these EIS projects.

In addition CQG has led social and environmental impact feasibility studies associated with the previously mentioned EIS projects to assess the project constraints. Furthermore CQG undertook landholder and TO and other stakeholder consultation and reviewed the contractual engagement of landholders and subcontractors.

CQG has existing relationships with various TO groups in Queensland including the Wik, Wik Way and Kugu people of Cape York by working together on various projects. CQG has worked with the TOs on a number of funding applications including the development of Indigenous Protected Area Declaration (IPAD), the Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting and Improvement (MERI) Plan and providing assistance with the nomination of World Heritage Areas.

CQG has experienced professional staff across a variety of disciplines including ecologists and environmental scientists, who have the capability to undertake feasibility studies, provide advice on the Carbon Farming Initiative, manage carbon farming projects and provide training to TOs. CQG has delivered training packages on various environment management concepts to a variety of organisations. CQG has recently submitted Indigenous funding applications in consultation with various TOs to deliver environmental monitoring and management training to TOs enabling them to return to and manage their country.
