on proceedings of the Landscape Restoration Industry Roundtable, 30 November 2011, Canberra
Michael Williams & Associates Pty Ltd
About the report
On Wednesday 30 November 2011, the Department hosted a round table for representatives from the landscape restoration industry. The round table brought together 18 experienced practitioners in landscape restoration work from a range of industries, including the mining sector, the nursery and forestry industry, as well as seed supply, applied research scientists, and the NRM/NGO and training sectors. The purpose of the day was to discuss opportunities and barriers when it comes to delivering enduring biodiversity conservation outcomes through large-scale environmental plantings.
Key messages arising from this one-day forum are summarised in this report. The points made in this report document the round table discussion, and represent the diverse opinions and experiences of individual participants. They do not reflect the departments' views on this industry or any particular issues. In facilitating the forum, there was no prioritisation of issues or an attempt to gain consensus of these views.
