Marine Bioregional Planning - timelines and getting involved
Marine Bioregional Plans are currently underway for each of Australia's five marine regions. Each region is up to a different stage of the planning process. More information about the timelines, contacts and a stakeholder consultation
There are now four Marine Bioregional Profiles available:
- South-West Marine Bioregional Profile
- North-west Marine Bioregional Profile
- North Marine Bioregional Profile.
- East Marine Bioregional Profile.
Coral Sea Conservation Zone
The Coral Sea Conservation Zone was established in May 2009 and provides interim protection to the area while it is being assessed for possible inclusion in one or more Commonwealth marine reserves through the marine bioregional planning process.
