About the assessment report
In November 2007, the Australian Fisheries Management Authority provided a submission for further assessment of the Coral Sea Fishery under Parts 10, 13 and 13A of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act). The submission - Strategic & export reassessment report, reports against the Australian Government Guidelines for the Ecologically Sustainable Management of Fisheries - 2nd Edition and provides updates on the implementation of recommendations made in the original assessment undertaken by the Department of Environment and Heritage in October 2004.
The 2007 DEWHA assessment report considers the submission and associated documents and provides an assessment against the wildlife trade and protected species provisions of the EPBC Act.
