About the report
In March 2007, the New South Wales (NSW) Department of Primary Industries submitted the approved Fishery Management Strategy for the NSW Lobster Fishery (Lobster FMS) for further assessment of the NSW Lobster Fishery under Parts 13 and 13A of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act). The approved Lobster FMS was used to assess the fishery against the Australian Government Guidelines for the Ecologically Sustainable Management of Fisheries. The 2007 DEW assessment report considers the Lobster FMS and associated documents and provides an assessment against the wildlife trade and protected species provisions of the EPBC Act.
