Queensland Marine Specimen Shell Fishery
Strategic assessment under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999
Current decisions
On 24 September 2009, Queensland Primary Industries and Fisheries (QPIF), part of the Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation notified the Department of Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts that the Marine Specimen Shell Collection Fishery no longer requires, or seeks to retain, export approval. Therefore product harvested from the fishery cannot be legally exported after 12 November 2009. QPIF can re-apply for export approval for the Marine Specimen Shell Collection Fishery at any time in the future.
