Environmental assessment under the EPBC Act

In September, 2007 the QLD Department of Primary Industry and Fisheries provided a submission for further assessment of the East Coast Tropical Rock Lobster Fishery under Parts 13 and 13A of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act). The submission - Annual Status Reports - East Coast Tropical Rock Lobster 2005, 2006 and 2007 reports against the Australian Government Guidelines for the Ecologically Sustainable Management of Fisheries - 2nd Edition and provides updates on the implementation of recommendations made in the original assessment undertaken by the Department of Environment and Heritage in November, 2004.
The 2007 DEW assessment report considers the submission and associated documents and provides an assessment against the wildlife trade and protected species provisions of the EPBC Act.
