About the report
In February 2010, the South Australian (SA) Department of Primary Industries and Resources (PIRSA) provided a submission for further assessment of the SA Blue Swimmer Crab Fishery under Parts 13 and 13A of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act).
The submission reported against the Australian Government Guidelines for the Ecologically Sustainable Management of Fisheries - 2nd Edition and provides updates on the implementation of recommendations made in the original assessment undertaken by the then Department of the Environment and Heritage in November 2004.
The 2010 Department of Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts' assessment report considers the submission and associated documents and provides an assessment against the wildlife trade and protected species provisions of the EPBC Act.
