About the report
In November 2007, the Department of Primary Industry and Water provided a submission for further assessment of the King Island Cast Bull Kelp Fishery under Part 13A of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act). The submission - Annual report addressing DEW recommendations on the harvest of Cast Bull Kelp on King Island by Kelp Industries Pty Ltd - February 2007 reports against the Australian Government Guidelines for the Ecologically Sustainable Management of Fisheries - 2nd Edition and provides updates on the implementation of recommendations made in the original assessment undertaken by the Department of Environment and Heritage in February 2005.
The 2007 DEWHA assessment report considers the submission and associated documents and provides an assessment against the wildlife trade and protected species provisions of the EPBC Act.
