Tasmanian Octopus Fishery
Strategic assessment under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999
Current decisions
On 15 April 2009, the Department of Primary Industries and Water (DPIW) notified the Department of Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts that the Tasmanian Octopus Fishery no longer requires, or seeks to retain, export approval. Therefore product harvested from the fishery cannot be legally exported after 5 July 2009. DPIW can apply for export approval for the Tasmanian Octopus Fishery at any time in the future.
