Tasmanian Rock Lobster Fishery
Accreditation of a Plan of Management for the Purposes of Part 13

I, David Kemp, Minister for the Environment and Heritage, being satisfied in relation to that:
- the Fisheries (Rock Lobster and Giant Crab) Rules 2001 in force under the Living Marine Resources Management Act 1995 (Tasmania), to the extent that the Rules are a plan of management for the fishery for southern rock lobster (Jasus edwardsii), require persons engaged in fishing under the Rules to take all reasonable steps to ensure that members of listed threatened species, listed migratory species, cetaceans and listed marine species are not killed or injured as a result of the fishing; and
- the fishery for southern rock lobster does not, or is not likely to, adversely affect:
- the survival or recovery in nature of any listed threatened species; or
- the conservation status of a listed migratory species, cetacean, or listed marine species or a population of that species,
hereby accredit the Fisheries (Rock Lobster and Giant Crab) Rules 2001, as in force at the date of this instrument, to the extent the Rules apply to the fishery for southern rock lobster, pursuant to sections 208A, 222A, 245 and 265 of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 for the purposes of Divisions 1,2,3 and 4 of Part 13 of the Act.
