Transitional arrangements: Transitional arrangements for areas within former reserves From the declaration of Commonwealth marine reserves in November 2012 until management plans come into effect in July 2014, there will be no changes to the management arrangements for the area within the former Solitary Islands Marine Reserve (Commonwealth Waters).

About the guide

The Solitary Islands Marine Reserve (Commonwealth Waters) lies on the seaward side and adjacent to the NSW Solitary Islands Marine Park. The NSW Solitary Islands Marine Park extends from the coastline out to the limit of state waters at the three nautical mile mark. The Commonwealth Marine Reserve extends from the state three nautical mile boundary out to the 50 metre depth contour. The NSW Marine Parks Authority manages the on-ground aspects of the Commonwealth Marine Reserve on behalf of the Australian Government Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts.
