Queensland Wetlands Program

About the program

The Queensland Wetlands Program is a joint initiative to invest $15 million over five years—$7.5 million Australian Government cash and $7.5 million Queensland Government in-kind, to support Queensland in the conservation and management of wetlands, implementing the provisions in the Bilateral Agreement  related to wetland conservation and management.

Funding under this program may be available to regional bodies as a new investment or to complement existing investment in wetland conservation and management under their regional investment strategies. In preparing regional investment strategies regional bodies are expected to develop and implement regionally focused projects relating to wetlands to be funded as part of their regional allocations.
