Setting sail for the future

The close connections between ecosystems , processes, resources, uses and issues in the coastal zone require that coastal zone management occur at an appropriate time and spacial scale and is closely integrated at all geographic and geopolitical levels.

The goals of marine environmental management are to maintain biodiversity and ecologically sustainable development. The alternatives are continuing environmental degradation and ecological collapse.
