About the application
The Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts has received an application for approval for a permit to kill, injure, take, trade, keep or move a listed ecological community in a Commonwealth Area under Part 13, section 200 of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999. The application is to remove herbaceous material from 'Natural Temperate Grasslands of the Southern Tablelands of NSW and the Australian Capital Territory' and 'White Box-Yellow Box-Blakely's Red Gum Grassy Woodland and Derived Native Grassland' within the Majura Training Area in the ACT.

It is proposed that should the application be approved it would be in force for a period of up to five years.
In accordance with the provisions of section 200(3) of the Act, comments were invited on this proposal. The comment period closed 18 December 2008.
