Environment thesauri

Greetings one and all.

Some of you may already have heard that the EPA Library in Victoria (newly
divested of its planning and heritage material) is seeking to view an
Australian environmental thesaurus.

We are attempting to standardise our subject classification regime for our
serials collection, abstracted articles database, and even our information
file of newspaper clippings. Before we split from what is now the
Department of Infrastructure Library, our classification methods had to
take account of our mixed collection (which included planning, heritage,
transport, architecture, building...). However, now that we are wholly an
environmental library, we are looking to do a bit of re-jigging.

If any of you know of an accessible, reliable Australian environmental
thesaurus, please let us know through this forum - we're interested in
finding out how the rest of you approach the classification challenge!
