National Metadata Seminar, National Library of Australia,
Thursday 6 March 1997

Seminar Programme

A number of leading international experts in the field including Stuart
Weibel from OCLC, Carl Lagoze from Cornell University and Rebecca
Guenther from the Library of Congress will present the latest research
on metadata for the Internet, including an up to the minute report on
the development of the well known "Dublin Core" standard.  Renato
Iannella, DSTC, and Lorcan Dempsey, UKOLN will discuss developments in
Australia and the UK; and Eliot Christian and John Perkins will talk
about developments in the area of government information and museums.
At the end of the seminar there will be discussion of a continuing
process for metadata implementation in Australia.
