Australia's National Floral Emblem: Wattle

Floral emblems of Australia: education kit

Australia's diverse environment supports an abundance of unique flora. While our national floral emblem, the golden wattle, is widely dispersed, many plant species are confined to quite specific areas.

Do you know the floral emblem for your State or Territory?

How much do you know about it?

Would you like the opportunity to select a local flower to be your own floral emblem... or your school's... or your local community's! It's all available in the Floral Emblems of Australia Education Kit!

Developed by the Australian National Botanic Gardens, this free kit is designed for primary students and teachers.

It is specially suited to kids in the bush! But city kids will love it too.

What do you get?

Why should you want to?

Kids - it's fun!

Teachers:
It's educational, with links across Key Learning Areas
It's supported by lots of activities on the web - so much preparation has already been done for you!

Everyone - it gives you a chance to put your local community on the map.

And it's free.

How do you get it?
