What training is available?
SkillsInfo
Individuals who are new to the insulation industry may be required to undertake insulation specific training. To find out more, please visit the Australian Government's SkillsInfo website where you will find the contact details of the Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) who currently have insulation training on scope that meets the requirements of the Energy Efficient Homes Package.

Small business skills
Individuals who intend to establish a small business are encouraged to undertake training in small business competencies.
Suggested units include:
- course code BSBSMB301A "Investigate micro business opportunities", and
- course code BSBSMB406A "Manage small business finances".

Occupational Health and Safety
Individuals need a competency in Occupational Health and Safety. The course code is CPCCOHS1001A.
Registered Training Organisations are listed by the National Training Information Service. To find training in your state or territory:
- Go to www.ntis.gov.au
- Click on "search" button on the top tool bar
- In the "search for" field Enter the course code (e.g. CPCCOHS1001A), check the tick box for the type of training AND the "RTOs by scope" box
- Then check the tick box for your State or Territory
- Click "search"
- Select a provider to click through to the courses on offer

Latest information for installers
Note to installers
Any person or company seeking to operate as an insulation installer in South Australia must be licensed to do so under the Building Work Contractors Act 1995 (SA). Licensing requires applicants to demonstrate that they have relevant competencies in installing insulation. Contact the South Australian Office of Consumer and Business Affairs, Builders Licensing Section for further information on (08) 8204 9644 or visit www.ocba.sa.gov.au.
