Previous $1,000 Solar Hot Water Rebate

The Australian Government is helping Australian households install climate friendly hot water technologies.

Households that installed a solar or heat pump hot water system on or after 3 February 2009 may be eligible for the Government's new $1,600 rebate under the Energy Efficient Homes package.

Households that installed a solar or heat pump hot water system before 3 February 2009 may be eligible for a rebate of $1,000. To apply for this rebate the applicant's taxable family income must have been less than $100,000 in the most recent tax year as lodged with the Australian Taxation Office. Applications for the $1,000 rebate will be accepted until 2 August 2009.
