Decision to refuse the Nobbys Lighthouse Redevelopment

On 19 May 2008, the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and the Arts refused approval for an application by the Newcastle Port Corporation and Nobbys Lighthouse Pty Ltd to redevelop Nobbys Headland under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act).
This follows a public consultation period from 27 March 2008 until 9 April 2008, when the Minister sought comments on his proposed decision. In making his final decision the Minister took account of the public responses.
