Tin Can Bay marina
KS9 Pty Ltd is proposing to build a marina in Tin Can Bay’s Snapper Creek Harbour, as well as associated infrastructure, a kiosk, a car park, a yacht club, a boat ramp and a promenade.
The proposal is being assessed under national environment law for its potential impact on nationally listed migratory species, threatened species and ecological communities, and wetlands of international importance.
After a public consultation period on the proposal, which ended in September 2010, KS9 Pty Ltd must now address public comments received, then provide final documentation to the department for review.
Once the department has determined the final documentation is satisfactory, KS9 Pty Ltd will have to re-publish all the material on its website.
The minister, or his delegate, will then have 40 business days to make a final decision on whether this project can go ahead under national environment law.
