About the application
The Department of the Environment and Water Resources has received an application for approval for a permit to kill, injure, take, trade, keep or move a listed species or ecological community, a listed migratory species, or a listed marine species in a Commonwealth Area under Part 13, section 257 of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act). The application is for the collection of sea snakes landed dead on trawlers during the Northern Prawn Fishery season.
It is proposed that should the application be approved it would be in force for the period of the 2007 Northern Prawn Fishery season - commencing 1 April 2007 and ceasing on 1 December 2007.
In accordance with the provisions of section 257 (3) of the Act, you are invited to comment on this proposal. Please submit your comments by 29 March 2007.
