About the application
The Department of the Environment and Water Resources has received an application for approval for a permit to kill, injure, take, trade, keep or move a listed threatened species and ecological communities in a Commonwealth Area under Part 13, section 200 of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act).
The application is to kill and take Golden Sun Moth larvae and move Natural Temperate Grassland. The applicant is applying to collect 150 Golden Sun Moth larvae in an area of Natural Temperate Grassland which is proposed for future rehabilitation. The specimens will be used for research to determine details of the density, behaviour, and life history of the species.
It is proposed that should the application be approved it would be in force for the period commencing from the date of approval to 25 June 2009.
In accordance with the provisions of section 200(3) of the Act, you were invited to comment on this proposal.
