About the application

The Department of the Environment and Water Resources has received an application for approval for a permit to take an action affecting a member of a listed species or ecological community in a Commonwealth Area under Part 13, section 200 of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act).

The application is to care for abandoned Booby Birds (Sula sula) from the Pulu Keeling National Park until they can be released to the wild.

A permit is sought for the period commencing from the date of approval for 24 months to 2009.

In accordance with the provisions of section 237(3b) of the EPBC Act, you were invited to comment on this proposal.

Comments period closed 3 October 2007.
