About the paper

The purpose of this discussion paper is to encourage input from individuals, businesses and organisations into the review of the Act. It provides:

• an explanation of the key provisions of the Act;
• a summary of how the provisions have been implemented since the Act came into force in 2000; and
• a selection of key questions regarding the operation of the Act to help stimulate discussion as part of the review.
