Australian Government Environment Portal. Your gateway to Australian environment resources on the Internet.

Australian Heritage Bibliography. A bibliographic database about significant places in our natural and cultural environment. Formerly known as HERA.

Australian Heritage Database. A database of more than 13 000 places of natural, historic and indigenous significance. Formerly known as the Register of the National Estate.

Australian Heritage Photographic Library. A collection of more than 120 000 images, 15 000 of which are available online. Images include natural and historic places listed in the Register of the National Estate and the Australian Heritage Database.

Australian Heritage Places Inventory. Summary information about places listed in State, Territory and Commonwealth heritage registers.

Australian National Shipwreck Database. All known shipwrecks in Australian waters.

Australian Natural Resources Atlas. Maps, graphs, data and reports from the National Land and Water Resources Audit.

Australian Wetlands Database. Find information on Australia's Ramsar sites and nationally important wetlands listed in A directory of important wetlands.

Cape York Peninsula Land Use Strategy. A joint initiative between the Australian and Queensland Governments to identify areas of conservation significance in Cape York.

Collaborative Australian Protected Areas Database. Information on all protected areas in Australia, including their IUCN Management Categories.

Discover Information Geographically. Search for datasets held by the Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts. Much of this data is available for downloading. This information replaces that available from the Environmental Data Directory which is no longer being maintained.

Environment Image Database. Photographic collection of the Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts.

EPBC Protected Matters Search Tool. Generate a report that will help determine whether matters of national environmental significance or other matters protected by the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act are likely to occur in your area of interest.

Environmental Reporting Tool. Find out what's in your backyard, town or region: threatened species, important wetlands, heritage sites, pollutant emissions and more.

Geographic tips and tools. Find a place or convert spatial coordinates.

Land Cover Change and Condition Database. People engaged in land cover change and condition projects can list their work and/or list work being carried out by others around Australia.

My Environment. Provides a window onto the environment and heritage around your place - just enter your residential address to find out.

National Chemical Information Gateway. Find information on chemicals from web sites around Australia and the world.

National Pollutant Inventory. Information on the types and amounts of certain pollutants emitted to air, water and land from industry and other sources.

National Vegetation Information System. The (NVIS) A collaborative program between the State, Territory and Australian governments drawing together detailed native vegetation information.

Species Profile and Threats Database. The SPRAT datadase is designed to provide information about species and ecological communities listed under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.

State of the Environment reporting. The national State of the Environment (SoE) report is the major mechanism in which resource management and environmental issues are comprehensively reported and analysed at scales that transcend State and Territory boundaries.

Used Oil Recycling and Collection Facilities Database. A searchable oil directory that lists the nearest used oil drop-off station, used oil collector and used oil recycler in local areas.

Australian Plant Image Index. Photographs and illustrations of Australian botany and ANBG activities.

Botanical Databases. A range of botanical databases from the Australian National Botanic Gardens (ANBG), the Australian Biological Resources Study and the Centre for Plant Biodiversity Research.

Flora of Australia Online. Floral taxonomic and biological information on species known to occur in Australia and its Territories.

Greenhouse Databases. A range of databases delivered by the Australian Greenhouse Office.

Greenhouse Gas Inventory. Reports on all Australian human-induced greenhouse gas emissions in six sectors (Energy, Industrial Processes, Solvent and Other Product Use, Agriculture, Land Use Change and Forestry, and Waste).

National Whale and Dolphin Sightings and Strandings database. Records reported sightings of whales and dolphins in Australian waters and maintains details of stranding events around the Australian coastline.
