External advice
In making decisions on Commonwealth environmental water use, expert advice is obtained from a range of sources:
- the Environmental Water Scientific Advisory Panel , which comprises prominent scientists and experts in fields such as hydrology, limnology, river operations management, river and floodplain ecology and the management of aquatic ecosystems
- our delivery partners, including state governments, catchment management authorities, water management authorities and regional and local land managers
- river operators, who store, manage and deliver water for all water users.
The Commonwealth Environmental Water Stakeholder Reference Panel has also been established to advise the Commonwealth Environmental Water Office on a range of stakeholder issues in relation to Commonwealth environmental water management and communications.
