Green Loans
Green Loans officially started on 1 July 2009. It is an Australian Government initiative to help Australians tackle climate change.
The Green Loans Program assists Australian families to install solar, water saving, and energy efficient products.
The Green Loans Program provides:
- detailed, quality Home Sustainability Assessments; and
- access to Green Loans of up to $10,000, that are interest free for up to a maximum of four years, to make the changes recommended in the assessment.
As of 29 January 2010, over 205,000 free home sustainability assessments had been booked under the program.

Assessor accreditation
As of 24 December 2009 ABSA ceased processing applications for certification of Home Sustainability Assessors for the Green Loans Program until further notice - with the exception of assessors intending to work in currently un-serviced areas.
