Information for Assessors
Frequently asked questions
What is the process for registering as an Assessor?
Information outlining the process for registering as an Assessor is available via the Association of Building Sustainability Assessors website at: www.hsas.net.au
How does the booking system work? How are bookings allocated?
Households are able to request a specific Assessor, or the booking system randomly selects an Assessor (based on an Assessor's preference for what postcodes they'll work in, and their available days and hours). The available hours can include out of standard work hours and weekends if indicated by the Assessor.
What hours do Assessors work?
Upon registration Assessors elect the days and hours they are available to work, these may include times outside 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday if indicated by the Assessor.
Assessors should contact our Hotline on 1800 895 076 to list their availability.
Recognition of Prior learning - I have completed another training course relating to household energy assessments. Does this course qualify for the Green Loans Program?
The Australian Government requires that Assessors be suitably qualified and experienced, and that they be a fit and proper person to conduct Home Sustainability Assessments. The Australian Government has authorised Assessor Accrediting Organisations to determine if applicants meet the minimum requirements. Recognition of Prior Learning in relation to accreditation is a matter for Assessor Accrediting Organisations. You should make contact with one of these organisations to determine the extent to which your training qualifies.
Assessor selection - how many Assessors are going to be selected?
There is no limit to the number of Home Sustainability Assessors providing assessment services for the Green Loans Program. Some Assessors may be available for a couple of hours a day or week; while other Assessors may be available seven days a week.
Assessor availability is listed in the booking service by the postcodes they wish to provide the service and according to the days and hours they're available.
