Funding for Fraser Island

Fraser Island, one of Australia's 17 World Heritage places and the world's largest sand island, will receive more than $1.8 million for onsite management and redevelopment of visitor services. Funding is targeted at reducing the environmental pressures associated with tourism at Lake McKenzie, including by reducing erosion, sustainable managing human waste, and better presenting the Lake's natural and cultural values.
