Use of the National Cultural Heritage Account
As of July 2007, the following significant Australian objects have been acquired by Australian public collecting institutions with assistance from the Account:
- February 2001 to the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery for an Aboriginal painting 'Water Dreaming' 1972 by Old Walter Tjampitjinpa
- May 2001 to the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery in Launceston for a 1923 Alfa Romeo Tourer motor vehicle
- June 2001 to Museum Victoria for the Melbourne Observatory in the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne for the Frodsham Regulator No.1062
- October 2001 to the State Library of Victoria for the left shoulder plate of the armour worn by Ned Kelly at the siege of Glenrowan in 1880
- January 2003 to the South Australian Museum for Master Blackburn's Starter and Cosh, a cat of nine tails whip made between 1788 and 1892
- May 2003 to Museum Victoria for a Cliff and Bunting Steam Traction Engine c.1902.
- February 2003 to the Queensland Sugar Museum for a Marshall 'Colonial' C Class Oil Tractor c.1911.
- February 2004 to the State Library of South Australia for the original Deed of Settlement of the South Australia Company
- March 2004 to Museum Victoria for the racing saddle worn on Phar Lap by the jockey, Billy Elliot.
- August 2004 to the National Museum of Australia to acquire the Holden 'No.1 Prototype'
- December 2005 to the Millthorpe & District Historical Society to acquire a Clayton & Shuttleworth Steam Traction Engine 1911
- January 2006 to the South Australian Museum to acquire the Pascoe Ichthyosaur fossil
- February 2006 to the National Trust of Australia (Tasmania) to acquire a Broadwood Upright Cabinet Piano, c. 1830
- February 2006 to the Queensland Museum to acquire two Gulmari Shields
- April 2006 to the School of Music, Australian National University to acquire a Ronisch Concert Grand Piano, c. 1880
- June 2006 to the Geelong Art Gallery to acquire the View of Geelong by Eugene Von Guerard, 1856.
- June 2006 to Museum Victoria to acquire a Hobson's Bay Pier Steam Hoisting Engine, c.1854.
- April 2007 to the South Australian Museum to acquire a C19th Aboriginal wokali bark shield
- May 2007 to Museum Victoria to acquire two drawings A Fight and Another Fight by Tommy McRae, c. 1890
- May 2007 to the Powerhouse Museum to acquire a Double Bass by John Devereux, 1856.
- May 2007 to the Powerhouse Museum to acquire the Australian Jockey Club's Sydney Gold Cup, 1950
- June 2007 to the Norfolk Island Museum to acquire a roll top desk, c. 1900
- June 2007 to the Nathalia and District Historical Society to acquire a Fowler Steam Traction Engine, 1884
- June 2007 to the Australian War Memorial to acquire seven sketchbooks by Arthur Streeton, Official War Artist, World War One
- June 2007 to the Powerhouse Museum to acquire the Genairco Biplane Aircraft, 1930
- August 2007 to the State Library of Victoria to acquire the photographic archive of Mark Strizic, 1957-1977
- August 2007 to the State Library of Western Australia to acquire eleven diaries of the Bussell Family, c. 1832-1840
- September 2007 to Museum Victoria to acquire a daguerreotype Aboriginal Man, Woman and Child, 1847 by Douglas Thomas Kilburn
- October 2007 to the Isis & District Historical Society to acquire an 1896 Fowler 0-6-0T Tank Steam Locomotive
