DEWHA and DEC conducted community consultations in the region in December 2007 and April and August 2008. Information sessions were held in Exmouth, Coral Bay and Carnarvon. A good cross section of the local community attended the sessions. There was strong interest in the nomination and broad support for World Heritage listing from the community.
