Development of a Strategic Plan for appropriate protection of significant sites within Githabul Country The project will develop a strategic plan in consultation with the Githabul community that provides direction for the culturally appropriate identification and subsequent protection of significant sites within Githabul Country. Wilsons River Experience Walk - Phase Two The project is a continuation of Council's redevelopment of the Wilson River. It will build on phase I (funded under the IHP) by creating a cohesive, interactive and interpretative display based on 'the big scrub', a vast lowland rainforest that covered the entire Lismore region some 100 years ago. Paradise Point: Sharing our culture and heritage program The project will develop an Indigenous Cultural Heritage Management Plan for Paradise Point, near Wagonga Inlet, NSW, including elements of identification, management and sharing Indigenous heritage. Site Care, Northern Sydney The project will expand and consolidate the Aboriginal Site Care program to meet the demand of unexpected numbers of volunteers, train new volunteers and  establish an expanded network of Site Care groups throughout the region. Australian World Heritage Indigenous Network The project will organise and host the Australian World Heritage Indigenous Network meeting and culture camp at the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. NSW Department of Environment and Climate Change $47,049.00
Walgett Aboriginal Heritage The project will protect local Aboriginal cultural heritage including sites of significance such as burials, campsites, bora grounds, native vegetation areas and hunting grounds. Dhimurru IPA Register of Heritage Sites The project seeks to develop a register of sites and significant areas within Dhimurru's Indigenous Protected Area (IPA) to assist with the sustainable management and protection of the natural and cultural resources belonging to the Traditional Owners. Dhimurru IPA Heritage Protection The project will improve the sustainable management and protection of the cultural and natural resources of the Traditional Owners of the Gove Peninsula, with particular focus on areas within Dhimurru's Indigenous Protected Area. Dhimurru will also install interpretive signs, maps and information panels to educate visitors about cultural significance and appropriate behaviour. Managing Cultural Heritage of the Thamarrurr Region The project will provide maintenance to numerous cultural sites by employing a suitably qualified project officer to oversee onground works undertaken by rangers and to coordinate community and traditional owners to become involved in ongoing maintenance works. From Stone Country to Saltwater (IHP - Ngukurr Walk) The project will support an 'on country' journey across Ngukurr land, providing an opportunity to document traditional knowledge and stories. A DVD will also be produced of the walk and stories. Greening Australia NT Ltd $33,625.00
Restoration of the Men's Museum Stage 2 The project is to continue the restoration work of the Yuendumu Men's Museum, which commenced with an IHP grant in 2006-07. Investigating Cultural Heritage Sites of the Thamarrurr Region The project will investigate and preserve a number of sites in the Thamarrurr Region, and will focus on getting clan members out to these areas to transfer knowledge and continue these stories. Protection of Burial Sites The project builds upon a previous project funded through the IHP and seeks to undertake further capacity development of the Wellesley Island rangers in burial site protection and fish trap restoration, particularly on and around Forsyth Island. Oral History Recording and Related Research and Development The project will record oral histories of Ngarrindjeri elders and create a DVD about Dapung-Talkinjeri people and their land and lifestyles. Reconnecting and Maintaining Links with Cultural Heritage Places in Tasmania The project will provide access trips for the Tasmanian Aboriginal Community to significant places, with the aim of revitalising spiritual connections to these places and transmit cultural knowledge, and to workshop the future management of these places. Northern Spinifex Heritage Project The Northern Spinifex Heritage Project will provide the logistical, physical and technical support for Traditional Owners to visit, record and maintain sites of special cultural significance in the northern portion of the Spinifex Native Title Determination area. Preston River Foreshore Project The project will involve the construction of a giant waugal (rainbow serpent) sculpture as part of the Preston River foreshore project. Harding River Cultural Mapping Project The project will compile a cultural mapping book on the Harding Dam area. The project will entail taking Elders out to country, as well as meeting with them in the Juluwarlu office to talk about the sites and locations, sing the songs and tell the associated stories. Spinifex Heritage Project The project will conduct bush trips to locate/visit particular sites of special cultural significance. Once located the sites are cleaned and documentation gathered on both the site and the associated cultural material. Elders are accompanied by younger generations. Maintenance, Preservation and Restoration of Noongar Heritage The project will develop a Cultural Heritage Database system for the Yued region incorporating cultural heritage site mapping, oral histories, cultural resource mapping, integrated GIS and photographical information. It seeks to achieve a sense of pride, fulfilment and closure for the families of Indigenous veterans, and to raise the awareness of these people in the general community.
