Benefits of project
The project will employ local consultants, builders and trades people as there is a good supply of heritage skills and materials available locally. The project will make a valuable contribution to sustaining heritage skills in a regional centre that prides itself on being a heritage tourism destination.
Upgrading the two cottages on either side of the store will diversify and increase the income of the complex, and will improve the protection and care of the store's valuable collection of artifacts and documents.
