The project manager has encountered difficulties sourcing tradespeople in the country region.
Repairs to the roof, and installation of the guttering are complete. The installation of the tie rods is now in progress, and a painter has been engaged and will begin work immediately. A cleaning contractor and plasterer have been secured, and will prepare surfaces in a manner compliant with the directions of the South Australian Heritage Branch.
The stonemason's work has been slightly delayed due to the unexpected heat, however the works are still scheduled to be finished by June.
The stonework, roofing and guttering works are complete. Although now hampered by wet weather, the electrical work, installation of the tie rods, general repairs to doors, painting and plastering will be complete by the end of June. These works are being completed sympathetically by skilled tradesmen.
The Court House gallery will host an indigenous art exhibition in spring as part of the "Brush with Art" series. This provides an opportunity for the public to see the completed restoration of the Court House. Although the works were unfinished, the buildings were a feature of the SA History Week in May, highlighting the importance of the civic buildings in the precinct.
