Willandra Lakes region human fossil trackway interpretation: outcomes
Benefits of project
The project will support training and employment opportunities for the traditional owners of this area, including increased employment opportunities in tourism and guiding.
The interactive visitor centre will be an educational resource for the community. The project will improve understanding about the importance of preserving and understanding our cultural heritage. For the traditional owners the site is central to their cultural meaning. Scientifically it is one of Australia's premier archaeological sites, and for the community as a whole it is an iconic site which they actively protect.
This project will create an internationally significant cultural tourism installation, attracting higher visitation from both existing and new tourism markets.
